- In this session the burden of diabetes will be discussed along with the pathophysiological treatment of Type 2 Diabetes. Participants will get an overview of oral medications for the treatment of Type 2 Diabetes. Combination therapy and insulin therapy will also be presented.
Learning Objectives:
- After taking this course participants will be able to:
- Discuss the use of diabetes medication based on the Pathophysiologic defects in Type 2 diabetes mellitus.
- Differentiate the oral the oral agents based on their metabolic effects in the Type 2 diabetic.
- Describe the efficacy, contraindications, dosing and combination of the currently available oral agents for diabetes.
